The Therapist List (New!)
I have received hundreds of e-mails from people around the country (and around the world) asking for a therapy referral in their area. Unfortunately, in most cases I know of no one to recommend. In order to address this problem and give people a starting point in their search for a therapist, I've decided to begin assembling a list of therapists who:
1) treat adult children of narcissistic parents and/or
2) spouses/partners of narcissistic people
and
3) have a treatment philosophy similar to mine
(see Philosophy)
Important Disclaimer:
Because I will not know the work of most of the therapists on this list, it is crucial that people 1) "audition" any therapist found on this list thoroughly and 2) check the person's credentials with their local licensing board before making any commitment. Inclusion on this list is not intended as an endorsement.
Therapists:
This site receives over 500 visits per day (the Message Board currently has over 1600 members and over 100,000 posts) from people who grew up in narcissistic families and/or are involved with narcissistic spouses or partners. Many are looking for therapists who have experience working in these areas. If you meet the criteria above and would like to have your practice listed here--there will also be a link to the List on the Voicelessness and Emotional Survival Message Board along with a post including your name and location--the listing fee is $100 per year. Practices will be listed by country, state, and city--and in the order received (e.g. if you are the first therapist to sign up in a particular city, you will remain at the top of the List in that city as long as you continue to subscribe). To list your practice, please contact me at ragrossman@voicelessness.com.
